The Angus Mac is coming!

August 28th sees the arrival of a new limited edition burger at Macca’s, the Angus Mac. As you may have guessed, this burger is a version of the Big Mac but with an Angus beef patty that is so popular in Australia. With the release of this burger being so close to Father’s Day, Macca’s is also releasing a smaller “Son of Mac” burger (which I suspect may end up on the $2 menu…) and will also be selling special Father’s Day cupcakes.

Macca’s sales are going backwards in Australia, hence the current range of freebies including Coca Cola glasses and thousands of breakfast items (has anyone tried to claim one of these? I spoke with someone who was told the offer was sold out, which I find hard to believe – serving 1,000 customers at most Macca’s restaurants would take a lifetime.)

Big Mac variants are not that common, although I do remember having a Mega Mac (with 4 patties) some years ago in Rockingham. In Germany they sell a “Bigger Big Mac”, which is simply that – 45% bigger.

Stay tuned for a review of the Angus Mac.
