Snack food review: Cadbury Dairy Milk Choc Orange flavour!

Cadbury Dairy Milk Choc Orange

Regular readers will know that choc orange is my favourite flavour combination when it comes to just about anything sweet.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Choc OrangeRegular readers will know that choc-orange is my favourite flavour combination when it comes to just about anything sweet, however we don’t see a huge amount of it in Australian confectionery and it’s more common as a “limited edition” in the UK.

I’m not a big fan of Australian Cadbury Dairy Milk – I prefer dark chocolate to milk, and milk chocolate of higher quality – but I was still excited to bump into this in my local Woolies today, and there was no way I was leaving without buying…let’s say “some” bars. Each 200g block cost $3.50.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Choc OrangeLet’s not mess around – so how is it?

It’s “normal” Cadbury Dairy Milk with orange bits added – those paying attention to the label would have noticed the “chocolate orange flavoured mini drops” and “orange flavoured chips”. It’s an accurate description, and I have to say I was impressed. The “drops” are like little Jaffas, and the “chips” sugary, orange candy. Although I’m not a big fan of the Dairy Milk, I think the orange add-ins need a sweet chocolate surrounding them, this would be a very different experience with darker chocolate. The overall experience is rather sweet but…oh well.

I’m not sure whether I’ll be buying any more of this, but I can guarantee that the bar(s) in my fridge won’t end up in the bin. If you like chocolate orange, I recommend you buy some of this before it disappears.
