Alberta's Busselton

The first stop on my recent trip to Busselton was Alberta’s, the eagerly awaited cafe / restaurant / dining space from Noma alumni Kirsty Marchant and Ben Ing.

The focus is currently coffee and baked goods, and the daily menu is frustratingly concise but completely appropriate. I didn’t arrive until 11am, and the coveted tarte tatin was sold out. Thankfully, the outstanding mandarin bar, brown butter & choc chip cookie and Five Senses Coffee made for an enjoyable experience.

I could happily sit at the bar all day, and I’ll be visiting whenever I’m nearby. It’s a delightful, friendly venue that I’d love to transport to Perth, but something tells me it wouldn’t be quite the same.
