Perth’s Bella Events Launches With a Lunch to Remember

Bella Events is a new company from Perth hospitality-veteran Natalie Miller, founded on the philosophy of Bespoke-Experiential-Limited-Local-Artisan. 

I was kindly invited to Bella’s first event, a special long table lunch commemorating and paying tribute to the 100-year anniversary of Remembrance Day.

The event was held on the beautiful back porch of Paul Conti winery, the last remaining Italian vineyard homestead along Wanneroo Road.

Lunch was prepared by Paul ‘Yoda’ Iskov of Fervor, Sophie Budd and Herb Faust. Each chef created a canape and lunch course using exclusively Western Australian ingredients.

Supporting the chefs at the event were seven WA artisan producers:

  • Poach Pear (Inglewood & Bayswater)
  • Paul Conti Wines (Wanneroo & Margaret River)
  • Grumpy Fish Gin (Wanneroo)
  • Agent 80 (Perth)
  • Halls Family Dairy (Wokalup / Harvey)
  • Chestnut Brae Chestnut Farm (Nannup)
  • Roogenics (Fremantle)

Guests had the unique choice of heading straight to the winery or starting with a bespoke cocktail at The Raffles and traveling to the winery by bus. MC for the day was Christina Morrissey Everett of 6PR and Channel 9’s Destination WA.

CEO of Legacy Western Australia Rob Ratkovik attended the event, saying grace and commemorating those fallen. Part-proceeds from the event were donated to Legacy.

The food, setting and entertainment made for an exquisite day out and one of my 2018 highlights. Natalie’s attention to detail is evident, and Perth has a lot to look forward to from Bella if the chef line-up at her first event is anything to go by.
