WE MIGHT still be obsessed with freak shakes and cronuts, but WA’s dessert scene is set to go through a culinary “evolution”. New venues that pay homage to the European dessert culture are beginning to pop up across the city with a distinct shift towards fresh, delicate flavours and unique designs.
As food blogger Martin Eade explains our sweet tooth has started to change with Perth going from cupcakes to naked cakes to salted caramel to matcha everything. “I doubt many of us were lusting after a naked drizzle birthday cake five years ago,” he told PerthNow.
