News: Plating Up WA Transforms Winter into a Culinary Celebration

Plating Up WA

Discover a culinary treasure trove in Western Australia, where ingredients boast quality and flavour that’s simply unparalleled. In a celebration of our exceptional, world-class produce, over 45 venues statewide will be showcasing WA-inspired gastronomic creations all through the month of June.

Plating Up WA will showcase special dishes loaded with Western Australia’s best seasonal ingredients, at locations all over the State. Now in its sixth year, the campaign was initiated by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s Buy West Eat Best program.

Options vary from casual to fine dining, bar snacks to wineries, pubs and taverns, desserts to grazing boards.  There are dishes to suit all tastes and budgets.

Melissa Worthington, Program Manager Buy West Eat Best, said “The Buy West Eat Best team are thrilled to be running Plating Up WA for the sixth year. Previous campaigns have provided a significant boost to local food service and hospitality during what has been a challenging time, supporting over 200 venues that have taken part to date.”

Plating Up WA is calling on local food enthusiasts to reserve their spot at participating venues. From breakfast to dinner, chefs are curating dishes that not only delight the palate but also celebrate the dedication of our local suppliers and produce.

”The campaign delivery is supported and shaped directly by the sector, lead by this year’s chef liaison, Scott Bridger, co-owner of Bib and Tucker. “Being asked to be a chef representative for the Plating Up WA campaign is an honour. I’m looking forward to being the conduit between industry and the campaign to help bring West Australian produce to life for winter diners in 2024,” he said.

“Western Australia has some of the most passionate producers and restaurants in Australia. Our clean air, pristine oceans and luscious pastures means we have amazing produce all year round. Buy West Eat Best continues to celebrate it all, its enthusiasm towards keeping our industries sustainable and giving recognition to producers and venues big or small. It gives me great pleasure to be a part of their team.”

Food lovers, families, businesses, and communities can support the campaign by securing their reservations via, where you can find a full list of participating venues and dishes.
