News: Buy West Eat Best “Meet the Buyer” Returns on October 25

Meet The Buyer

Meet the Buyer is the biggest summit of West Australian food and beverage producers under one roof, presented by Buy West Eat Best. Returning to Crown Perth on Tuesday 25 October, the second annual expo will showcase over 70 exhibitors and 450 locally branded products to more than 400 guests. Registration for exhibition and delegate attendance is now open at

Meet the Buyer brings together the most diverse showcase of our state’s quality products in one place, providing a face-to-face networking platform for WA food and beverage businesses. Attendees include industry associations, producers, wineries, brewers, farmers, independent and national retailers, artesian crafters, distributors, chefs, sommeliers, educators and caterers all servicing both domestic and international markets.

Last year’s event was well worth attending, and a great opportunity to meet some new producers and catch up with some familiar faces. I will certainly be back this year.

Buyers will discover a range of quality products that have been grown, farmed, fished, processed, prepared, and served right here in Western Australia. They can identify premium ingredients and groceries for retail shelf, menu and beverage lists while celebrating the diversity, quality, resilience and innovation that drives WA’s food and beverage producers.

Meet the Buyer returns for WA’s second agri-food industry exhibition and networking event, after overwhelming support from trade, business and industry,” said Deborah Pett, Manager Food Industry Development, Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

“The inaugural event last October received excellent feedback from buyers and delegates across the spectrum in scale and sector. Key results included deals into major and niche retailers, businesses connecting to complimentary partners, reframing capital expenditure plans, rethinking packaging, right down to hospitality students securing practical work placements,” she said.

While common on the East Coast and ASEAN, last year saw WA’s first ever industry expo of this scale. Delegates in 2021 represented businesses including Coles, Woolworths, Metcash/IGA, Farmer Jacks, The Brindle Group (Good Grocer and IGA, independents) Galati Group (Spudshed), Fresh Provisions, SecondBite, Crown Perth, Pan Pacific Perth, Auslink Foods Pty Ltd, Heyder & Shears, Optus Stadium, The Herdsman Market, Stanley College, Global College, Boatshed Market, Luxfoods, Dinner Twist, Voyager Estate and MBL Food & Packaging plus many more.

Running from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm in the Crown Ballrooms, the trade show will showcase industry innovators and emerging trends along with familiar and classic WA brands. From seafood to citrus, beef to bananas, chocolate to chilli, truffles to tortillas, wines and more, see the full exhibitor here:

Delegate tickets are priced at $49 (plus Booking fee) and include admission to the trade show, all day tea and coffee, program catalogue, and admission to the Networking Sundowner with light canapes and first drink.
