The excitement is building for the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest, which will showcase everything that is great about the City on March 14 and 15. Crab Fest is WA’s biggest free regional festival, showcasing two days of amazing food, entertainment and activities while celebrating local produce from around the Peel region.
Chef, restaurateur and television presenter Pete Evans will join Crab Fest as this year’s culinary ambassador. Channel 7 celebrities including Home and Away’s Sam Frost and Rob Kipa-Williams, and Kerry Hall from My Kitchen Rules, will also be joining the Crab Fest experience.
The festival celebrates Mandurah’s iconic Blue Manna Crab, and if you are a seafood lover you won’t be disappointed. A delicious range of unique food experiences will be on offer including fresh and cooked crabs, crab inspired dishes and other mouth-watering seafood. If seafood doesn’t “float your boat” then don’t despair,
this foodies paradise will serve up a diverse range of fresh and authentic dishes.
Other highlights of the weekend festival include the dedicated Coles Buy West Eat Best Cooking Stage, hosted by WA’s Food Ambassador Chef Don Hancey, with Pete Evans, local chefs and TV personalities providing live cooking demonstrations and tastings across the weekend.
Home-grown Australian band Jebediah will be headlining Sunday afternoon?s entertainment line-up on the Crab Fest music main stage. A Saturday evening sundowner will precede a spectacular fireworks display over the stunning Mandurah waterways and a fully dedicated children’s area will be home to a number of free and exciting children’s activities and entertainment.
Each year, Crab Fest attracts more than 100,000 local, national and international visitors to the city. Crab Fest is easy to get to, just step off the train and onto a free shuttle bus for easy access straight to the heart of the festival.
Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams said Crab Fest, which was recently inducted into the WA Tourism Awards Hall of Fame, is an integral part of WA’s annual event calendar. “Crab Fest is our signature festival which truly celebrates and highlights all that is great about Mandurah, from our amazing waterways, local produce, and our friendly people,” Mayor Williams said.
The Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest is supported by the State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, made possible by Royalties for Regions.
