The Shelf Life
The Shelf Life – the latest supermarket product reviews
I don’t stand a chance against limited edition UK crisps, so I don’t bother pretending that I’m not going to buy as many as I can get my hands on. … I heard a whisper that a small number of these Xmas flavours were hitting the shelves of UK Central on Saturday morning but I wasn’t alone. Put it this way: the lady opening the boxes was lucky she was the one holding a knife. … Pigs in Blankets (sausages wrapped in bacon) – unmistakable smell of pork sausages when you open the bag. Very nice indeed. … Turkey & Stuffing – like Walker’s chicken with extra salt. Yuck. … And yes, Brussels Sprout. Green tinge aside, the flavour is pretty accurate. An odd experience that I oddly found more pleasant as I moved down the bag. Haven’t opened another one…yet. … If you can find these – and good luck with that – they’re worth it for the curiosity factor. No-one can do crisp flavours like the UK.
