Burgers by the fire at Edgecombe Brothers, Swan Valley

EdgecombeI’m lucky enough to live just a few minutes from Edgecombe Brothers in the Swan Valley – where we had a very nice lunch a few months ago – so was excited to hear of their new “takeaway” menu, being served on Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm to 9pm.

As well as having the option to take your food home, you can sit outside in their patio dining area next to the fire – perfect for a chilly winter’s night.

EdgecombeOrdering is done at the counter, and there is seating inside if you don’t want to brave the cold.

DSCF2017I had the delicious “Edge” burger, with Dardanup beef pattie, caramelised onion, salad and beetroot relish ($10.50) – I added bacon ($2) & cheese ($1). Renay had the “Pollo” burger ($11.50), which she really enjoyed – the chicken pattie was made from minced chicken, and was very moist as opposed to the dry breast (or dodgy schnitzel) you find in most chicken burgers.

Also on the menu is a veggie burger ($11.50), BLT ($10.50) and homemade pumpkin soup ($4.50). You can see the very reasonably priced menu here.

EdgecombeI couldn’t resist the sweet potato wedges ($8.50) – simple, but perfectly cooked and a big serving.

NuggetsFor kids there’s a simple hot dog ($4.50) or nuggets & chips ($4.50)

All of the food was very fresh, and what really stood out is that there wasn’t a trace of oil or grease to be found. If you’ve ever been to Edgecombe Brothers then you’ll know that the food is always served with a smile, and tonight was no exception.

EdgecombeThere’s plenty of seating, and room for the kids to run around!

We went with some friends who also live in Ellenbrook, and we all agreed that it was great to have somewhere close to home where we could catch up in a casual setting while enjoying good quality, reasonably price food. I can imagine these evenings being extremely popular if they continue into summer.

We really enjoyed our evening at Edgecombe Brothers, so much so that we’re planning to go again next week. Highly recommended.
