It’s no secret that I’m a lover of chocolate, although I insist on it being good quality and usually dark (okay, or orange), and I was lucky enough to recently be invited to John Walker Chocolatier’s shop in Garden City to sample some of their locally made products.

John Walker Chocolatier

John Walker Chocolatier began in Perth back in the Depression, and remains a family business until this day. Producing over 60 varieties of confectionery, they provides high quality chocolate through three stores in Perth (Garden City, London Court & Karrinyup) and also to 5-star hotels, restaurants and corporate clients.

Products can also be ordered from their website here.

John Walker Chocolatier has won many prestigious awards over the years, including the coveted Alfred Stauder Award for Excellence at the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth Shows.

Extreme freckles for the whole family ($23.95 each).

There’s a wide variety of individual chocolates to choose from – please don’t lick the glass.

Truffles! …including mocha, caramel cream, vanilla bean, strawberry creme, orange creme, Cointreau, Tia Maria, whisky, rum, apple brandy, Champagne….

A gift for your favourite police officer (or other lover of handcuffs).

There’s plenty to choose from, even if you’re just after something “simple”.

Oh look, orange. Don’t mind if I do…

As you can see, even “simple” comes in interesting varieties. I was very happy to see the marzipan!

Fudge too! Their licorice is also very popular.

There are plenty of gifts for all occasions.

Gifts can be personalised in store.

John Walker Chocolatier also make low carb chocolate with no added sugar! Now there’s no excuse not to indulge…

That’s Valentines Day sorted…

These were one of the tastiest things I tried – crunchy, nutty and just plain fabulous.

Something to drink? Sure, why not.

Love these cute chocolate cameras!

I wasn’t really familiar with John Walker Chocolatier until my visit, and I certainly didn’t realise that they were Perth-based. The store staff were passionate about their product, and offer a high level of personalised service.

If you’re after some high quality, locally made chocolate – or a unique gift that’s pretty much guaranteed to please – there’s plenty to choose from at John Walker Chocolatier.

Disclaimer: I was invited to visit the store, but received no compensation for this article other than a few samples.
