Margaret River’s Gourmet Escape will celebrate wine like never before this November, adding an extra day to the program to celebrate the famed wine region’s 50th anniversary. The festival will showcase an appetising line-up of new events and talent, including home-grown culinary royalty, Curtis Stone. From 16-19 November, the food, produce and wine extravaganza will put the unparalleled bounties of Margaret River front and centre, with a record number of events taking place in the region. A month has already passed since Truffle Kerfuffle, the annual Southern Forests celebration of everyone’s favourite fungi.
Come Spring, travellers seeking a taste of the good life will have the opportunity to meet genuine down-to-earth farmers of the Southern Forests.
Returning this August, the annual Gascoyne Food Festival sees an impressive line-up of Western Australian chefs heading north to celebrate the region’s produce. This year’s festival will be spread between Carnarvon, Exmouth, Dirk Hartog Island and Mount Augustus. Headline events include an all-star long table lunch on the bank of the Gascoyne River; a barbeque-on-the-beach at the Carnarvon Yacht Club, and the Gascoyne Growers’ Market. More adventurous festival-goers can bring their own four-wheel drive (4WD) on a Gourmet Island Escape to Dirk Hartog Island where they will experience beachside camping, guided tours and food from guest chefs.
